Some pieces deserve drama. This free Blender studio is a dark, cinematic forest scene — a weathered tree stump lit by shafts of light breaking through the canopy, with drifting dust and deep atmospheric shadow. It's built to make a pendant, ring or chain feel like the hero of a film still. Everything is set up: the environment, the volumetric lighting, the camera and jewelry-ready materials. Open it, place your own piece on the stump, and render a moody, editorial image in minutes. It's the exact kind of scene we use in production, shared free for the design community.

What's included

  • A cinematic forest environment — a weathered tree stump, forest floor and deep atmospheric background
  • Volumetric god-ray lighting breaking through the canopy, with drifting dust particles
  • A framed hero camera with depth of field, tuned for a dramatic film-still look
  • Jewelry-ready Cycles materials — metals and gemstone shaders you can reuse
  • A sample piece placed in the scene so you can see the setup and swap in your own
  • Everything packed into a single .blend — no missing textures or broken links

How to use it

  1. 1
    Download & open

Grab the .blend and open it in Blender 4.0 or newer. The environment, god rays, camera and materials are already set up.

  2. 2
    Import your piece

Bring in your own ring, pendant or chain (File → Append/Import), or replace the sample piece on the stump.

  3. 3
    Position in the light

Place your model where the sample sits so it catches the light shafts, using the existing camera. Nudge it to taste.

  4. 4
    Assign materials & render

Apply the included metal and gemstone shaders (or your own), then hit render for a moody, cinematic image.

Frequently asked

Yes — it's completely free to download and use, including for commercial jewelry work. We only ask that you don't resell or redistribute the scene file itself.

Blender 4.0 or newer, using the Cycles render engine (both are free from blender.org). A GPU is recommended because of the volumetric god-ray lighting, but it works on CPU too.

Absolutely — the stump-and-light setup suits pendants, chains, rings and small objects. Just place your piece where the sample sits so it catches the light.

Yes. Use the images for your store, portfolio, social media or client work. The scene is yours to render with — just don't resell the file itself.
